BA Animation students Thea Handeland and Olivia Carter, guided by their tutor Kathy Nicholls, worked with Cynthia Hollinsworth and Rita Stephen to create short animated films portraying the story of Cynthia’s mother Blanka and her sister Clara in the concentration camp.
The students’ work will be the foundation for a pilot program entitled, “Cynthia’s story, engaging young people with the Holocaust,” which will become part of a teacher training education packet used by secondary schools throughout Cornwall and aims to inspire young people through stories of survival. Collaborators include Kehillat Kernow, Cornwall Faith Forum, SACRE, Cornwall Council, and Falmouth University.
