We had really excellent High Holy Day attendances this year.
Rosh Hashanna, as usual, was at the Lipert’s house and our Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur services were held at premises on an estate near Truro. The catering services also laid on a buffet to break the Yom Kippur fast.
Our European Jewish heritage Day events also went well with heavily oversubscribed visits to the Jewish cemetery in Penzance, a splendid lecture from Julie Stone and an evening concert in Chacewater.
Scarlett Cohen celebrated her Batmitzvah at the Porthminster Hotel very recently and this was well attended by both members of kehillat Kernow and other family members.
We now have a special ‘building fund’ committee which has the task of raising money towards our own synagogue premises at some time in the future.
Our AGM this year takes place on Sunday 30th November.
