    A Sephardic Passover Haggaddah

Lovely little paperback Haggaddah, which while an ancient Jewish experience, is also a contemporary experience. This book reflects that. It is, like Torah commentary, a growing and changing document. This encourages discussion and engagement in the Seder ritual. Nice to see as a contrast to the usual Askenazi Haggaddah format; we complement each other.

Bible (with New Testament) in English

English translation from the Jehovah Witnesses group which makes this English version of The Bible good for general use in particular Christian sects but must be read with caution as it is bent towards a Christian (Jehovah's Witnesses) interpretation of the original Hebrew. There is a difference!

Given to the late Jack Abel who was awarded the Eli Belovitch Memorial Prize form the Manchester Talmudic College in Seymour Road (year?) for his studies there., this five-volume Chumash must have held a very special place in his heart. The books contain detailed commentaries by Rashi and others and would be of interest to the Talmudic scholar.

    Volume:

Editor: R. Paul Freedman and R. Professor Jonathan Magonet

    Place: London

Publisher: Sternberg Centre for Judaism, MRJ

Draft edition of Erev Rosh HaShanah Machzor

New draft form of Machzor being written, edited and organised by MRJ with transliteration, which is easily accessible and user friendly but traditional as well. This draft is for the Erev Rosh HaShannah. Explanatory notes at the bottom of pages inform the congregant of the importance of the particular prayers on that page and give insight into the service. The format is similar to the new sidderim and is particularly helpful to those people who are informed, those who are not, and those whose Hebrew may need a little help. Sensitive upgrading of the Machzor.
