Florence Grenberg's Jewish Cookbook
Basic Jewish cookbook, the 'bible' of most housewives (and now husbands!) which helped to run a proper Jewish household. Classic recipes, excellent pictures from a legend who inspired people for sixty years! Greenberg's own story is also fascinating as she served in World War I as a nurse in Palestine and Egypt, and on a hospital ship in Gallipoli; her husband was editor of the JC and a leading Zionist. This is a no-nonsense cookbook which even will show you how to 'kasher liver'! Oye. You would be amazed how many of these recipes you know from your mothers. Hail Florence Greenberg! -
