This is a personal history of London's old East End between the 1870's and the 1960's through a personal quest to solve the mystery of a man who appeared to have gone missing: David Rodinsky, A caretaker who lived above the Princelet Street Synagogue, was a scholar, tsaddik, strange and solitary fellow whose life took on all form of legend in the East End. It is mystery, story-telling and history all at once with many contemporary Jewish notables helping in the search, most notably our own David Jacobs, and its tale stretches from Eastern Europe to Petticoat Lane.
